Warning | Red Line & Blue Line: CTrain Service Disruptions

Over this weekend, both the Red and Blue Line will be undergoing scheduled maintenance. From May 2-3: Dalhousie to Tuscany Station will have a full closure, shuttle buses will be available to take customers between the affected stations. There will also be single tracking events happening on both lines — May 1-3 at Westbrook Station and May 2-3 at Southland Station. Green Line LRT

Green Line LRT - SE Project

The Green Line is The City of Calgary’s next light rail transit (LRT) line and largest infrastructure investment in our city’s history. Construction of the SE Project began in spring 2025 and is expected to open in 2031.

The Green Line LRT – SE Project includes:

  • 10 stations
  • 16 km of twin LRT track
  • 6 LRT bridges
  • 1 maintenance & storage facility
  • 3 Park and Ride facilities
  • 28 low-floor light rail vehicles.

Downtown Segment

The Green Line will extend into downtown, connecting into the Red and Blue LRT lines. The Downtown Segment is undergoing further planning, design and public engagement before construction begins.

Future phases

The full vision for the Green Line is to connect communities between Seton and 160 Avenue N. It will be an important piece of Calgary's rapid transit network, adding 29 stations and 46 km of track to the existing LRT system.

Just like the Red and Blue LRT lines, the Green Line will be built in phases as funding becomes available. North and south extensions are currently unfunded.

The full Green Line will connect to key destinations like the South Health Campus and will integrate with a future rail connection to the Calgary International Airport.

The Green Line strategically connects residential areas, employment hubs and essential services, benefiting all Calgarians who live and work across the city. It will provide fast, frequent, and reliable service, and connections to hundreds of key destinations throughout the city.

It will also play an important role in shaping the City’s future. Green Line LRT is both a transit system and a platform for long-term city building. This will encourage redevelopment and investment opportunities in Calgary businesses and communities.
