As of April 17, 2024, registration is open for Get on Board Travel Training Summer Camp. This innovative program is specifically designed for individuals aged 15 to 21 with disabilities, aiming to empower them with the skills needed to navigate Calgary Transit independently and safely.

Participants benefit from a range of activities, including safety training led by a Calgary Transit Peace Officer, a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility, practical lessons on trip planning and fare payment, along with insights shared by our Customer Service team.

This summer, we're offering three sessions to choose from running from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:

  1. July 15 and 16
  2. July 29 and 30
  3. August 12 and 13

Clare Russell, Calgary Transit’s Travel Trainer Community Liaison, highlights the program's impact, "This summer camp is a wonderful opportunity for young people with disabilities to become more acquainted with our transit system, enhancing their independence and wayfinding skills."

We encourage those interested to explore more details and see if this program is the right fit for their needs. To make registration as convenient as possible, sign up on or visit the Accessibility website for more information.
