Construction is about to resume as part of the North Pointe Park and Ride lot improvement project. Work is scheduled to begin the week of April 18. Here’s what to expect:
What construction activities will be taking place?
Remaining work in the lot includes:
- Installation of apron tie-ins to Harvest Hills Boulevard and Country Village Link N.E.
- north-to-south sidewalk construction
- east aisle tree and island removals
- storm water manhole and oil-grit separator installation
Will the Park and Ride be closed for construction?
The Park and Ride will remain open throughout construction, but there will be additional parking restrictions in place as needed. Later in the spring, there will be a temporary road closure on northbound Harvest Hills Boulevard that will close access to the Park and Ride from the west, but access will remain open on the east side (from Country Village Link N.E.).
Will there be road closures during construction?
Closures will be in place as follows:
- Country Village Link N.E. (southbound)
- Starting on Wednesday, April 20 for approximately 16 days, sections of the curb lane and sidewalk on southbound Country Village Link N.E. will be closed
- This closure will be in effect on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- One southbound lane will remain open for traffic. Both northbound lanes will remain open
- During this closure, bus stops at the south end of Country Village Link N.E. will be relocated north to just past the north entrance to the park and ride.
Later in the spring, temporary sidewalk and lane closures will also be required on northbound Harvest Hills Boulevard. The schedule for this closure is being finalized.
Access to the park and ride lot will be maintained during construction, however detours and areas with temporary parking restrictions will be in place.
Please watch for detour signage posted near work areas. For more information on the project and upcoming construction, visit calgary.ca/NorthCentralBRT.
