On Canada Day, Saturday, July 1, we will provide a Sunday level of service.

Customer Service Hours of Operation:

Call Centre 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Customer Service Centres Closed
Calgary Transit Access (Bookings) Closed
Calgary Transit Access (Customer Service, Eligibility and Admin) Closed
Calgary Transit Access (Dispatch line for same day service) 6 a.m. to midnight

The upper and lower deck of the Centre Street bridge will be closed all day for the fireworks display.  
The following routes will be on detour: 2, 3, 10, 17, 300 and 301

Canada’s 150th birthday promises to be one of the biggest celebrations yet! From fireworks, to pancake breakfast to living flags, come and celebrate with us!

Here’s what’s happening in Calgary this Canada Day:

Canada Day at Fort Calgary

Is there a better way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday than being part of a giant Canada Flag? This is just one of the many festivities that will be happening at Fort Calgary. The family fun filled day also includes a free pancake breakfast, music, food trucks, crafts and more!

How to get here with Calgary Transit:

By CTrain:

  • Take the Blue or Red Line to City Hall Station
  • From here, it’s about a 15 minute walk to Fort Calgary

By bus:

  • Route 411 – East Calgary have a stop a block away from Fort Calgary
  • Be sure to check for changes to routes on Canada Day

Canada Day Celebrations

Join thousands of Calgarians for free activities downtown, including a Metis dancers at Prince’s Island, opening of a 1967 time capsule at Confederation Park, fireworks at the Centre Street Bridge, and much more!


  • Central Library – The Calgary Public Library will be hosting family friendly activities including campfire stories, colouring stations, lego pits and more.
    • 2-5 minute walk from City Hall CTrain Station
  • East Village Street Fair – visit over 80 local vendors, listen to live music or hang out in the pop-up shipping container hub.
    • 10 minute walk from City Hall Station
    • Route 1 has bus stop nearby
  • Confederation Park – check out the horse-drawn wagon rides, musical acts and the opening of a 1967 time capsule!
    • Route 4 has bus stop nearby
  • Eau Claire – don’t miss the petting zoo, ice cream, stage performances and face painting!
    • Routes 449 and 5 have bus stops nearby

How to get here with Calgary Transit:

By CTrain:

  • On both the Red Line, and the Blue Line, there are 9  CTrain stations downtown in the 7th Avenue Free Fare Zone

By bus:
