The Blue Line had some closures this past weekend at Zoo and Barlow/Maxbell stations to allow our crews to perform important maintenance work. Customers were connected to Bridgeland and Franklin stations via shuttle service while these closures were in place.
The stations have reopened this week; some things that were worked on include roof repairs at the Zoo Station, work on the electrical substations and general maintenance on the Deerfoot Bridge.
Having station closures impacts service but you can stay informed about planned service disruptions like this by visiting calgarytransit.com/service-updates. It’s also one of the ways we practice safe work on transit infrastructure – with trains not running in areas where crews need to access tracks, we can get in and get out more quickly and safely. We do our best to plan these activities during off-peak times like on the weekends so that our customers are impacted as little as possible.
