Cleanliness of vehicles, stations and stops is important to customers and to their confidence in the transit system. Adequate cleanliness affects perceptions of safety. In 2016, vehicle and station cleaning at Calgary Transit was subject to an in-depth review and implementation decisions will be made in 2017.

These results show the percentage of customer satisfaction survey respondents that rated the overall system cleanliness as either excellent or good.
What we did in 2016
- Conducted an independent and in-depth review of the way Calgary Transit cleans vehicles and the costs for cleaning stations.
What we’re working on in 2017
- Decide which aspects of the 2016 review to implement while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Review the contract for shelter cleanliness and, subject to available funding, make recommendations for improvement.
