On July 25, 2016, The City of Calgary approved a sliding scale fare structure for our Low Income Monthly Pass. Starting March 2017, we'll adjust the cost of a low income monthly transit pass based on the customer's household income to make it more convenient and affordable to get around the city.
The price of a pass rises with an individual’s income until it exceeds the Low Income Cut Off (LICO). The sliding scale fare structure will help eliminate financial barriers for vulnerable Calgarians based on their current income. For more information and to apply online, visit Fair Entry.
The sliding scale fare structure is made possible through the Government of Alberta contributing $13.5 million of funding over three years for low-income transit passes.
