New bus routes are coming to north Calgary starting Monday, March 19, 2018.

We’re introducing four new bus routes in northwest Calgary to replace four routes that will be retired. These changes were made in response to population growth in the area and requests from customers to improve travel times, increase connections to transit hubs, shopping centres and the new Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge. Additionally, we’re introducing Route 119 - Freeport to serve the northeast industrial areas around Freeport and Aero Drive.


Route 115 – Symons Valley Parkway

This route replaces Route 157 in Royal Vista and introduces new service in Evanston and Sherwood. It also connects to the new Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge. View map.

  • Connects to the Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge with two-way service from Tuscany Station
  • Connects to the shopping centres at Beacon Hill and Sage Hill
  • Customers in Sherwood and Evanston now have direct connections to the Sage Hill and Beacon Hill shopping areas, and Tuscany Station.
  • Parts of south Sage Hill and Kincora are now within walking distance to this route.
  • Bus frequency:
    • Every 20-25 minutes during peak times
    • Every 30-35 minutes during off-peak times
  • Bus span: until midnight
  • The route schedule will be available by March 5


Route 138 – Citadel

This route replaces Route 199 in Crowfoot, Arbour Lake and Citadel, and Route 157 in Royal Oak. Where Route 199 ended, Route 138 will continue across Stoney Trail to connect with Royal Oak (including the shopping centre with Walmart, Sobeys, etc.) and to Tuscany Station. View map.

  • Connects to Tuscany LRT station and Royal Oak shopping centre
  • Improves travel time from west Citadel to/from the Red Line
  • Customers in Royal Oak can use Route 138 to reach the Crowfoot shopping centre, Crowfoot library, Crowfoot YMCA and Robert Thirsk High School.
  • Bus frequency:
    • Every 15 minutes during peak times
    • Every 30 minutes during off-peak times
  • Bus span: until midnight
  • The route schedule will be available by March 5


Route 123 – Sage Hill / North Pointe

This route replaces Route 425 in Sage Hill and Kincora, and Route 420 in Panorama Hills and Hidden Valley.  View map.

  • Connects to North Pointe bus terminal and the Sage Hill shopping area, including Walmart.
  • Route 123 does not travel along Country Hills Blvd where the Route 425 did, however Country Hills Blvd is still served by Routes 114 and 430.
  • Route 123 runs more frequently than Route 425 did in this area.
  • Bus frequency:
    • Every 20 minutes during peak times
    • Every 30 minutes during off-peak times
  • Bus span: until 1:00 a.m.
  • The route schedule will be available by March 5


Route 124 – Evanston

This route replaces Route 420 in Evanston, but travels a much shorter distance to North Pointe bus terminal. This means that customers who live in Evanston and want to travel to/from downtown will experience shorter travel times. View map.

  • Improved travel time from Evanston to North Pointe bus terminal.
  • Reduced walking distance to bus stops for people in northeast Evanston.
  • This route will travel through Carrington and serve that community once road connections are available.
  • Bus frequency:
    • Every 15-20 minutes during peak times
    • Every 30 minutes during off-peak times
  • Bus span: until 1:00 a.m.
  • The route schedule will be available by March 5


Route 119 – Freeport

This is a new route that connects the industrial employment centres in Freeport and Aero Drive to Saddletowne Station. This route will begin service with one-way, peak-only trips. View map.

  • A.M. service – Route 119 travels westbound from Saddletowne to Aero Way*
  • P.M. service – Route 119 travels eastbound from Aero Way to Saddletowne*
  • Customers can connect to Route 145 Skyview Ranch/Redstone at 104 Ave NE
  • The route schedule will be available by March 5

*There is one westbound afternoon trip and one eastbound late evening trip to service employees on late shifts.
