Calgary Transit Refund Policy
Adult and Youth Monthly Passes
A full refund less a $10 Administration Fee will be provided if the pass is returned before the first day of the month. Once the month has begun, pass refunds will be prorated based on the number of days that have expired including the day it is returned. The value of the pass will be reduced by the equivalent value of two transit trips per day using the current cash fare price for the specific pass being returned.
The refund will be prorated from the date of purchase if the customer can produce a receipt that clearly shows the date, the fare product, and the price paid.
A $10 Administration Fee will be applied to all refunds.
Example 1: Adult Monthly pass
($94.00) returned on January 5 will be
refunded $94.00 less 5 days at $5.50 per day
($27.50) less a $10 administration fee.
Refund = $56.50
Example 2: Youth Monthly pass
($54.25) returned on September 3 will
be refunded $54.25 less 3 days at $3.50
per day ($10.50) less a $10 administration
fee.
Refund = $33.75
Adult and Youth Tickets and Day Passes
Not eligible for cash refunds. At the time of a price change, tickets and Day Passes may be returned and their value used to purchase current tickets or other fare products.
Tickets retain their cash value as printed on the front of each ticket. Customers may continue to use outdated tickets, but must add cash to the value of the price printed on the ticket that equals the current ticket price. The ticket and cash combined may then be placed in the fare box of the bus. This does not work when taking the CTrain as there is no fare box and customers are advised to exchange old tickets for current ones.
Concession or Discounted Fares
(Senior Citizen Yearly Transit Pass and Low-Income Monthly Pass)
Due to the significant discount provided on these passes, these passes are not eligible for refunds.
Note:
Calgary Transit is not responsible for lost or stolen passes and tickets. Replacements will not be issued.
