NE LRT Station Refurbishment Project
As part of the North East Light Rail Transit (NE LRT) Refurbishment project, six stations (Bridgeland/ Memorial Station, Zoo Station, Barlow/ Max Bell Station, Franklin Station, Marlborough Station and Rundle Station) on the N.E. Calgary Transit line will be under construction beginning in the fall 2012.
Construction for each station is expected to take place during a six to seven month period per station.
Improvements to each station include:
- A new CTrain platform that will accommodate four-car trains
- New station furniture
- New aluminum and glass shelters (to be installed in a later phase)
- New passenger information display signs
Calgary Transit will work with our Construction Manager PCL to minimize the impacts to service during the station construction. However, some work may require station closures during weekends or periodic limited access in order to facilitate larger scale work associated with the project.
