While the concept of riding public transit can seem like a no brainer – you pay, get on, stand or sit down, get off and arrive at your destination, there are a few things to keep in mind when you’re on your way.

Transit Etiquette 101

Once you board your transit vehicle you should move towards the back of the bus or middle of the CTrain. This will allow maximum room for others to board. If you’re wearing a backpack it should be stored near your feet to avoid hitting other passengers while walking through the bus or CTrain.  You should refrain from swearing or using offensive language as it is a public space. There are kids, grandparents, and a whole magnitude of different cultures and backgrounds aboard. What may be funny or acceptable to you might not be for the person next to you. Be respectful.
